Norton House Hotel Ballroom

George Nicolson were pleased to be awarded a further decoration package to The Norton House Hotel Ballroom through Hand Picked Hotels Ltd. The refurbishment was carried out to the Ballroom and corridor to the design supplied by 10 Design Ltd.

The Ballroom had the existing stage removed to have a new chair store created on the same level as the Ballroom floor. A new partition was formed and the finishes on this blended in with the rooms existing features. The doorway, which was installed by Hallbar Joinery Services Ltd, was constructed with a bespoke sliding door (which was a laser cut fret screen from Miles and Lincoln). This is now a key feature of the refurbished Ballroom. Carpets were also fitted throughout the project by T C Carpets & Flooring Ltd.

As you pass the original stone gatehouse and journey along the tree-lined drive, between open fields, the Norton House Hotel, creates a striking first impression: an elegant blend of the classic and the contemporary.

Originally owned by the Ushers, the family behind Glenlivet Whisky and the Ushers Brewery, the house still has the appearance of a private country home. But, like one of the family’s finest malts, it has improved with age. As well as historic features, it is now a place of stylish dining, advanced business technology and 21st century comforts.

This 1840 hotel is a romantic Scottish wedding venue and one of the best meeting venues in Edinburgh, thanks to its location, 5 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 20 minutes from the city centre and its tailored, all inclusive packages. Set alongside the hotel there is the Norton House Health Club & Spa, making it perfect for weekend breaks in Scotland and a great place to work out, relax or unwind.
