The Tarbet, Edinburgh

As Principal Contractor, George Nicolson, together with our sub-contract team, were pleased to be engaged by Greene King, and their direct contractors, to undertake a full refurbishment of The Tarbet (formerly known as The Centurion) located in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh.

Internally, our works encompassed the removal of the existing bar together with the manufacturing and fitting of a new bar in a different location. The services were altered accordingly to the new bar layout. Joinery repairs were completed, electrics were upgraded, a new small kitchen established and new floor coverings installed. Decoration works were completed throughout.

Externally, to allow the safe execution of decoration works whilst working at height, our operatives were required to work off a fixed scaffold and mobile elevated working platform. With the combination of the fresh decoration and newly installed signage, the external now boasts a clean and sharp appearance.

Over a three week period, The Tarbet was fully transformed through the design and concept created by Melling, Ridgeway & Partners Ltd together with the team at Greene King.

Old Corstorphine once stood on a place of dry land between two lochs. Hence the name The Tarbet has been used to rename this popular public house that offers great beers, food and live entertainment. The Tarbet will continue to offer a friendly experience where families will also feel welcome though the different events on offer. For information on their food, drinks, events and more, please visit their website: https://www.thetarbet.co.uk/index.

George Nicolson are proud to have been involved in the £285,000 transformation of the very first Belhaven Pub Partners franchise pub in Scotland.
