Training For Growth 2018

George Nicolson are dedicated to training for growth throughout the industry. We are pleased to promote Scottish Apprenticeship Week taking place between 5th to 9th March this year through our website and social media – #ScotAppWeek18.  This week celebrates the benefits apprenticeships bring to businesses, individuals and the economy as well as recognising the value work-based learning brings to employers across Scotland.

Through our apprenticeship and young tradesperson’s pathway, we have the ability to develop the skills of our tradespeople for the future. The company is committed to the on-going investment in young people with essential guidance and support from Investors In Young People and Re:markable. Thus ensuring a continued increase of the skill level within our company and indeed the Painting and Decorating industry as a whole. George Nicolson strongly believe in training for growth throughout our workforce from office based members of staff to site operatives and management. The training undertaken covers a wide range of Health & Safety subjects such as IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS, SSSTS, SCORE and First Aid but to name a few. We also ensure our operatives are kept up-to-date with any relevant changes in legislation through in-house Tool Box Talks.  Up to the end of December last year, our employees had completed a total of over 65 days training.

Training for growth will carry on throughout 2018 as we continue to focus on the further training and development of our workforce.

Young people are a vital part of our dynamic workforce as they are ambitious, motivated and eager to learn. Get yourself behind Scottish Apprenticeships:
